Have any questions?  Hopefully we have some answers.

Here are some answers to our more frequently asked questions from our customers. Please read below to see some commonly asked questions, and our answers.  If your question has still not been answered, then please contact us and we will be happy to try and help.

Q: How long do Happy Cakes last for?

A: Our Happy Cakes are hand-made, and can last for well over a month when kept in a cool, dry place.  They can last even longer if frozen or refrigerated.  The cake holds moisture well at lower temperatures and tastes great chilled. Once the packaging is opened, we suggest wrapping the remaining cake with plastic wrap and storing in the refrigerator. All cakes come with a ‘Best Before’  date.

Q: Can I pick up cakes in Waikiki?

A: YES!  Subject to calling first, we can meet you downstairs outside our office and give you curbside pick-up service.   Our office is located in a condo building so this may seem strange. But the cakes are fresh from our bakery in Kaimuki, and it is very easy to park in front with your vehicle.

Q: Can you deliver to a hotel in Waikiki?

A: YES!  Should you wish to call and place an order, we can add a free not or Hawaiian Birthday card and deliver to any Waikiki hotel within 24 hours.  Drop-off fee is $14.95.

Q: Can I travel on a plane with my Happy Cake?

A: Yes, Happy Cakes are made with glace pineapple, and pass all Hawaii state agricultural laws and TSA requirements.  No problem to take them traveling with you on an airplane.

Q: Where can I purchase Happy Cakes?

A: Happy Cakes are available in THREE ways:

  • Online through happycake.com
  • Curbside pickup in Waikiki subject to a previous phone order.
  • At the KCC Farmers Market every Saturday morning.

Q: Is a Happy Cake a Fruit Cake?

A: This is a great question that food critics and experts have debated and pondered over for more than fifty years.

The Happy Cake has a strong shelf life like a traditional fruit cake, and it is a dense cake with candied fruit and nuts. However the Happy Cake lacks the super sweet punch of fruit cake and it is so much more moist than fruit cake! Some say it is the Hawaiian version of a fruit cake.

Q: Can you ship Happy Cakes to me?

A: YES!  Since the 1960’s, we have been shipping our cakes all over America and the world! We are lucky to have customers in every state and also in most continents in the world.

Shipping options are:

USPS – The United States Postal Service’s Priority Mail has slowed somewhat this year and usually takes 3-5 business days.

FedEx 2-Day Service is also available for those needing a more speedy delivery.

Q: Do you do larger corporate orders?

A: YES. We are happy to oblige our customers whenever possible. We offer our services to restaurants, corporate offices, banquets, weddings, birthdays, luaus, and other events.

Happy Cakes are very popular as corporate gifts. Looking for perfect gifts for the office? We are pleased to customize these orders.  Please inquire by calling us on 808-922-1957.

Q: Do you take special orders/requests?

A: YES. Since we do all of the baking ourselves, we can make our Happy Cakes per order, for example, without coconuts, our Maui Pineapple and Macadamia Nut Cake has a lighter batter with less nuts, and no coconut.

Q: Do you have a cake with no nuts?

A: YES. Our Maui Pineapple Cake has a lighter batter with NO nuts, and NO coconut.  Predominantly we bake this cake in the Holiday season.

Q: Is there any alcohol inside a Happy Cakes?

A: No.  We don’t use any rum, brandy, or other types of alcohol in our Happy Cakes.

However, many of our customers tell us that they love their Happy Cakes served with a little liquor or rum drizzled over the top.  Woooo Hoooo!
