100% Kona Coffee has long been considered by coffee aficionados as the world's finest coffee. This smooth flavorful coffee is grown exclusively in the volcanic rich Kona district of the island of Hawaii, known more commonly to locals as the 'Big Island"
The Kona district has weather conditions ideal for the growth of coffee due to the level of rainfall and the high elevation of the small farms on the mountain slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa.
Our coffee is not a blend and is 100% pure Kona.
When the Coffee Tree bears fruit, it produces a ripe cherry usually consisting of two halves which are referred to as coffee beans. The shape is rounded on one side and flat on the inside. In 2-4% of coffee cherries, one side never got fertilized and thus a round full shaped bean developed. These oval shaped beans are known as Peaberry and are considered the highest grade coffee.
With their rounded shape, Peaberry beans can roll easily in the roasting process, accepting heat transfer equally and thus roast more evenly throughout the bean.
